Most people aren’t happy with their handwriting. While when you were at school, your teachers tried to teach you how to write those round letters that were always the same size using a ballpoint pen, with time and rush, you start losing the skill. Then, your personality comes into play.
While you may think that your handwriting just can’t get better because it is already in your genes, you need to understand that handwriting takes practice as well as it takes a good pen.
When you are a fan of ballpoint pens, there are some things that you should consider while you are writing since they can help you improve.
Finding The Right Ballpoint Pen For You
Ballpoint pens are the type of pens that are more commonly available. They are practical and they are usually affordable. Nevertheless, you need to find pen that fits you. Besides the style, you also need to take into consideration that this pen needs to fit your hand. So, if you have large hands, using a thin ballpoint pen shouldn’t be an option.

Practice The Gripping
One of the major secrets in writing properly with a ballpoint pen as well as to improve your handwriting is related to the way you hold your pen. The truth is that most people tend to hold it extremely tight. Nevertheless, there are also people who hold it in a very loose way. So, you need to find a balance.
When you hold your pen too tight, you will notice that your handwriting will be a bit shaky.
Don’t Rush
When you are looking to learn how to properly write with a ballpoint pen, you need to ensure that you take the time to practice. After all, practice makes perfect. When you need to write something down and you are in a hurry, you know that your handwriting will be worse. So, just take some minutes a day to practice with your favorite pen.

Useful article. Thank you.
Thank you Colin.
I gave up ballpoints a couple of years ago. Only use rollerballs and fountain pens nowadays. But still and interesting read.
Thank you Isabelle.
I was looking for ways to write faster, and found some good ideas here. Thank you.
You’re welcome Mario. Glad to help.
I have an old Montblanc ballpoint pen that I love and still use most of the time. My daily carry is this ballpoint and a fountain pen. It’s like the best of both worlds. The fountain pen is smooth and comfortable, but can’t beat my Montblanc in simplicity and practicability.
Nice Fynn, thank you for sharing. There’s definitely room for nice pens in all sizes, types and shapes. 🙂
