Introducing The Black Hero 366 Limited Edition

Introducing the Black Hero 366 Limited Edition. If you love classical fountain pens, you need to check out the hero 366. Clearly inspired by the vintage Parker 51, the Hero 366 has a lot of things going for it. Click here to know all the details about it.

This limited version of the pen comes with a fude nib. Fude nibs like this one offer great line variation, so they’re a perfect choice for calligraphy and drawing.

Hero 366 Specs

This is a light pen. While the full weight with the cap is near 19 grams, uncapped, the pen weights next no nothing.

This is a major advantage or disadvantage depending on your preferences. I personally prefer heavy and large pens, but I still find this hero 366 fun.

The cap is a simple pull-type cap and you can write with the pen capped at the bottom. It’s actually the best way to use it in my opinion since the pen length is just 120mm.

This pen comes with a pen sac, so no need to use converters or cartridges. You simply insert the nib into the ink bottle, give a couple of squeezes on the pen sac, and you fill it.

Again, it all depends on your preferences. It’s not the best filing system in the world for me, but it adds some personality and charisma to the pen. As a fountain pen user, I tend to stick to converters most of the time, but I find this filling system interesting for a change.

This is a plastic pen and might be the lightest pen I’ve used so far. That might give you the impression the pen is not durable or reliable enough, but the truth is I’ve been using some of these pens for years and never had a single reliability problem with them.

While some premium plastic or acrylic fountain pens get some cracks over the years, my heroes 366 remain as new. So, while the pen won’t give you a premium feel, it is reliable and practically indestructible.

Hero 366 Limited Edition Specs

On the limited edition we replaced the nib with a good calligraphy nib. This is a fude nib that will give you an extra character to your handwriting and that offers a generous line variation.

The feed and the sac filing mechanism had to be adjusted and tuned in some of these models, but when you get it you know it’s working perfectly well.

This pen comes with 2 3ml ink bottles and a 5ml fountain pen cleaning solution.

If you’re looking for a reliable and classical fountain pen, this Hero 366 can be a terrific choice. Some pens promise a lot and deliver just a little. This Hero is on the opposite side of that spectrum. It looks good if you like a classical design, but won’t feel like a premium pen.

But then, it keeps writing and performing for a long time. It’s not a sexy pen, it’s a workhorse. And we all need a couple of these on our collections.

The goal with the limited edition was exactly to bring some more fun and uniqueness to the equation, with the much superior nib. But at the same time, we wanted to make sure we wouldn’t affect the pen qualities.

InexPens Fountain Pen Cleaning Solution

Our cleaning flush is available in 5ml and 50ml. The 5ml cleaning solution is perfect to test, and the 50ml should last you for a long time.

Our Fountain Pen Cleaning Solution is a gentle solution that won’t damage your fountain pens but that will help you get rid of any ink residues that you may have missed during your regular water cleaning.

You can use it while you clean your pens between any ink change, or you can use it just after a couple of ink changes, to assure your fountain pen feed, converter and nib are completely free of any ink.

If you refill empty cartridges, our cleaning solution can also help. Simply refill a cartridge with our cleaning solution, let it act for 12 to 24 hours, and clean the cartridge with water.

You can reuse our cleaning solution, but it’s usually better to replace it after a couple of cleanings. If you’re using our 50ml bottle, you can simply transfer 3 to 5ml to a smaller vial, and clean your pens using the smaller vial.

Please note: never drink this cleaning solution, and be careful when you use it. Keep this cleaning solution out of reach of children and pets. And don’t mix any other cleaning products with it.

You can add simply a little water if you’re trying to get a little more out of it. Just keep in mind that if you dilute it with water, the cleaning properties might be affected.

If you notice that your fountain pen has some crusted up ink or any lodged paper fibers, you can easily clean it with our 0.02 Brass Sheet. Check more details here.

Our set of 0.02mm brash sheets is perfect for flossing between the nib tines of your favorite fountain pen. This simple maintenance task allows you to keep your ink flowing smoothly.

Why Should You Use The 0.02 Brash Sheet?

A single brash sheet should last you for years. You use the brash sheet corner to floss your nib tines, but when the corner gets damaged, you can easily cut it with a scissor, and you’ll get 2 new corners to use.

Our 0.02 bash sheet easily fits between your pen tines without causing any damage or misaligning the tines.

The best way to use this brash sheets is to insert the corner of the sheet into the slit of the nib (or breathing hole). Then, slowly and gently drag the brass sheet toward the tip of the nib. Repeat the process if necessary.

While you can execute this process in an inked pen, it’s much better to do it during the cleaning process. Wash your fountain pen with water and cleaning flush, and then take some time to use your 0.02 brash sheet.

If you prefer to, you can also remove the nib from the pen in order to use the brass sheet. That’s not required but it allows you to easily clean your nib without any concerns about the feed.

Cleaning your nibs with a brash sheet is not something you need to do much often unless you’re using some aggressive fountain pen inks.

If you’re performing any kind of nib smoothing, using a brash sheet becomes even more important since this is the perfect way to remove any tiny metal particles from your nib.
